Sri C. Radhakrishnan

Sri C.. Radhakrishnan is one of the most erudite and visionary writers in Malayalam today. His works explore a variety of themes including the intricacies of human relationships, and societal turbulence to the sublime significance of ancient Upanishadic wisdom in modern life. The intricate links between science and spirituality and the intertwining of the two dimensions in all elements of the universe form the theme of many of his works. He has received many awards including the Kerala and Kendra Sahithya Academy Awards, Odakkuzhal award and Mahakavi Vallathol award. “Pullippulikalum Vellinakshathrangalum”, “Munpe Parakkunna Pakshikal”, “Verpadukalude Viralpaadukal”, “Theekkadal Kadanju Thirumadhuram” are some of his notable novels.

Programme of Events

  • Sangeetha Yathra – Musical programme. A voyage of discovery through Kerala’s vibrant and acclaimed musical legacy. Songs narrating tales of the land and lives of ordinary people, evoking memories of harvests, festivals and seasons gone by and those yet to come.
  • Rhythms of India – Programme of Dance and Music. The soul of our beloved motherland portrayed through the regional dance forms that characterise her depth and diversity.
  • Ente Keralam – Dance. A repertoire of evocative dance forms such as Oppana, Margomkali and Thiruvathirakali showcases our rich and multicultural heritage
  • Urubhangam (The Shattered Thigh): Drama. Urubhangam is one of the oldest surviving Sanskrit plays, written by Bhasan depicting the poignant fall of Duryodhana in the battlefield, at the hands of Bhima. Urubhangam conveys the message of the ultimate futility of war, discipline over self, compassion for the enemy and final reconciliation.
