Chief Guests

Sri Adoor Gopalakrishnan is a film maker who has created some of the most memorable films of Indian cinema, including “Swayamvaram”, “Elipathayam”, “Mukhamukham”, “Vidheyan” and “Nizhalkuthu”. His films frame details that often escape our everyday glance, turning the mundane into the magical, the common place into the startling. Through his extraordinarily varied protagonists, Adoor paints the canvas of the wider society in stark detail. His films have won numerous state, national and international awards. He was awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke award for his all-round contributions to the world of film making.

Programme of Events

  • Dance programme by Smt. Rajashree Warrier
  • Raagasudharasa - A Ragam-based musical programme by Sruthi musicians, combining vocal and instrumental music to explore a wide range of ragas.
  • Bhagavadajjukam – A satirical play by Mahakavi Bhodayana, depicting a Guru teaching his pupil parakaya pravesham (transmigration of souls), giving rise to hilarious scenarios.
  • Adoor, a cinematic Journey - An original Sruthi production adapting Adoor’s experience in film, involving the protagonists from Adoor’s films coming to life on stage and interacting with each other, in an attempt to explore the multi-layered characterisation, subtexts, and internal crises that Adoor has so skilfully portrayed on film.
