Chief Guests
Sri K. P. Udayabhanu
Sri K. P. Udayabhanu is a representative of the golden age of Malayalam film songs, beginning his career at the young age of 19. Sri Udayabhanu’s unique voice and his ability to portray emotions won him a special place in the hearts of Malayalis. He has rendered music for films, dramas and albums, with his most popular songs composed by K. Raghavan Master and Sri M. S. Baburaj.
Sri Balachandran Chullikkad
Arguably the most distinct voice in modern Malayalam poetry, ‘Chullikkad poetry’ took the rather conservative literary world by storm in the seventies. His highly emotive words and fiery lines created shockwaves, elevating the young author to cult status, especially amongst younger audiences across the state. Through his career, the poet’s words have become more introspective and philosophical, but they continue to reflect angst, whether it be through poetry, prose or social criticism.
